DRC resolves 1,000 disputes amicably: DPO.

KOHAT -- The Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) amicably resolved as many as 1,000 public disputes out of total 1118 applications received under various heads from 2014 till date.

According to office of District Police Officer, most of the disputes were related to sale and purchase of plots, monetary deals, property and domestic issues. DRC resolve 1000 disputes with consent of the two parties while referring 14 cases to court and rest to police and other relevant forums for legal action.

DPO Javed Iqbal appreciating the efforts of DRC said that the idea of DRC was taken from 'Jirga system' in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA for resolution of disputes, adding that DRC affectively did its' job and played a vital role in keeping the communities united.

He said DRC has gained confidence of the masses in very short time and now people prefer to file complaint with the council instead of moving court, adding that constitution of DRC has also reduced burden of cases on police stations and courts.
