DRAVO CORPORATION ANN0UNCES ELECTION OF WILLIAM E. KASSLING TO BOARD

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Dravo Corporation (NYSE: DRV) today announced the election of William E. Kassling to the Corporation's Board of Directors.
Bringing to 11 the number of directors on Dravo's Board, Kassling was elected during the Board's regular January meeting.
Currently chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Westinghouse Air Brake Company (WABCO), a Pittsburgh-based supplier of air brake systems and related products to the railway and passenger transit markets, Kassling served as vice president of American Standard, Inc., and group executive for WABCO group operations from 1984 until American Standard's sale of WABCO to management and a Swedish holding company, Investment AB Cardo. Previously Kassling had held executive positions in American Standard's planning and building specialties groups.
A Purdue University graduate with a B.S. degree in industrial management, Kassling also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, Kassling also is a director of Scientific Atlanta, Inc., SAB-WABCO Europe, and Harmarville Rehabilitation Hospital in Pittsburgh.
"Mr. Kassling's background in large-scale industrial operations, his involvement in a major infrastructure-related business, and his extensive planning, organizational and management skills make him an excellent addition to our Board," commented Dravo's chairman William G. Roth. "We are pleased that he is willing to serve, and are confident that he will make a positive contribution to our efforts as we continue the work we began with Dravo's restructuring five years ago," Roth said.
