 DR. WILLIAM P. SOMMERS APPOINTED TO ROHR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 CHULA VISTA, Calif., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Rohr (NYSE: RHR) today announced the appointment of Dr. William P. Sommers to its board of directors.
 Rohr increased the size of its board to 12 members from 11. Sommers was named for a term expiring at the corporation's 1993 annual shareholders' meeting in December.
 Sommers is senior vice president of Booz, Allen & Hamilton Inc. and has extensive experience as a management consultant to some of the world's largest technology-based manufacturing and service firms. He joined the company in 1963 and served in various management positions including head of the Technology Management group and corporate director. He currently serves clients in such industries as aerospace, electronics, biotechnology and advanced materials, out of Booz, Allen's offices in San Francisco. He was elected a partner in 1967.
 Sommers spent six years with Martin Marietta Corp. and two years on the faculty of the Institute of Science and Technology, University of Michigan, prior to beginning his career at Booz, Allen & Hamilton.
 Born in Detroit, July 22, 1933, Sommers received a bachelor of science degree in engineering in 1955 and a master of science degree in engineering in 1956, both from the University of Michigan. In 1961, he earned a doctorate degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering, also from the University of Michigan.
 Sommers is currently a member of the board of trustees of the Kemper Mutual Funds, a trustee of the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation, and a member of the National Advisory Council of the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
 Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures and supports engine nacelle systems and components for commercial, military and business aircraft. Rohr, headquartered in Chula Vista, has facilities in the United States and Europe.
