DR. MARK D. DIBNER JOINS EDITEK, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 BURLINGTON, N.C., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Samuel Powell, Chairman of the Board, EDITEK, Inc., (AMEX: EDI.EC) announced today that Mark D. Dibner, Ph.D. has been elected to the EDITEK Board of Directors. Dr. Dibner is Vice President for Biotechnology Information as well as Director of the Institute for Biotechnology Information of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. Dr. Dibner also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business where he teaches management of technology. He is also on the Boards of Directors of ESE Biosciences, Inc., the Association of Biotechnology Companies and the Council of Biotechnology Centers, of which he served as chairman.
 Mark holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology and behavior from Cornell University Medical College, an M.B.A. in strategic planning from Widner University and a B.A. in physiological psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
 Dr. Dibner has written five books, primarily dealing with the biotechnology industry, including "Japanese Biotechnology: A Comprehensive Study of Biotechnology in Japan" and "Biotechnology Guide U.S.A." He has also authored more than 75 papers in leading journals.
