    DR PEPPER/SEVEN-UP COMPANIES ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER RESULTS
    DALLAS, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Inc., the industry's third leading manufacturer of soft drink concentrates, extracts and syrups, today reported results of operations for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 1991.  Net sales for the three-month period increased 14 percent to $160.5 million compared to $140.8 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, 1990.  Operating profit for the three months ended Sept. 30, 1991, increased 7 percent to $38.3 million compared to $35.8 million in the 1990 third quarter.  The net loss for the third quarter of 1991 of $19 million included an $18.6 million debt restructuring charge incurred in connection with the refinancing transaction completed in August 1991.  This compares to a $2.9 million net loss for the same period in 1990.
    Dr Pepper Company reported third quarter 1991 net sales of $105.2 million, a 23-percent increase compared to $85.8 million in the third quarter of 1990.  Operating profit was $27.8 million, which reflects a 9-percent increase over 1990 third quarter of $25.5 million.
    The Seven-Up Company reported third quarter net sales of $55.3 million compared to $54.9 million for third quarter of 1990.  Operating profit was $10.5 million, which reflects a 3 percent increase over the third quarter of 1990.
