 DR PEPPER/SEVEN-UP COMPANIES ANNOUNCES EXTENSIONS OF TENDER OFFERS
 DALLAS, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Inc., today announced that it has extended the expiration date of its pending offers for its 15-1/2 percent senior subordinated discount notes due 1998 and for Dr Pepper Company's 11-1/2 percent guaranteed senior secured notes due 1996 and $1.375 senior exchangeable preferred stock to 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Wednesday, July 1, 1992.
 Each of the offers, which originally commenced on April 29, 1992, was scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Tuesday, June 30, 1992, unless extended.
 As a result of the extensions, security holders will be entitled to tender their securities pursuant to the offers until 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Wednesday, July 1, 1992. The extension does not amend or waive any term or condition of any of the offers other than the time of expiration.
 Under the terms of the Dr Pepper senior note offer, withdrawal rights for Dr Pepper senior notes have terminated, and holders may no longer withdraw tendered Dr Pepper senior notes. Also, holders tendering after June 25, 1992, are not entitled to consent payments.
 As of June 30, 1992, approximately $310,745,000 aggregate prinicpal amount of the 15-1/2 percent senior subordinated discount notes due 1998 had been tendered for purchase and not withdrawn. This includes approximately $71,000 aggregate principal amount tendered pursuant to notices of guaranteed delivery. Approximately $148,962,000 aggregate principal amount of the 11-1/2 percent guaranteed senior secured notes due 1996 had been tendered for purchase and not withdrawn, including approximately $21,000 aggregate principal amount tendered pursuant to notices of guaranteed delivery. Approximately 3,612,688 shares of $1.375 senior exchangeable preferred stock had been tendered for purchase and not withdrawn, including 966 shares tendered pursuant to notices of guaranteed delivery.
