 DONALDSON, LUFKIN & JENRETTE SIGNS
 MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT WITH QUOTRON SYSTEMS
NEW YORK, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Quotron Systems, Inc. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) today announced that the New York- based securities firm has signed a multi-year contract with Quotron for the continued use of the QUOTRON 1000 system and an enhanced set of broker support services and productivity tools.
"We evaluated several information services vendors," said Kevin Glover, senior vice president of administration at DLJ. "In the end, our users -- brokers, traders, and salespeople -- felt that the Quotron terminals would best give them the technology and applications they needed to compete in today's and tomorrow's marketplace. Our agreement with Quotron allows us to provide state-of-the-art technology that is both flexible and suitable to our business needs."
Under the terms of the contract, Quotron will be providing an enhanced service mix to DLJ users. The agreement provides a three-tier service environment for DLJ's administrative staff, salespeople, and traders; each package includes a set of expanded services for market data, intra-company communications, and analytics. Quotron services will be delivered on the QUOTRON 1000 platform with a combination of existing terminals and personal computers.
Since its founding in 1959, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette has emerged as a major force in each of the professional financial markets it serves -- investment and merchant banking, institutional securities trading and research, investment management and correspondent brokerage services. DLJ provides focused, innovative, and high-quality services to its clients. The firm is particularly known for its superior analytical skills in both the equity and fixed-income markets.
DLJ has been a Quotron customer since 1974. The new contract covers DLJ's domestic operations; its international offices in London, and Geneva and Lugano, Switzerland; and its Pershing division, which provides correspondent brokerage services to more than 600 independent financial firms worldwide.
"We are please to provide a rich set of applications that addresses the requirements of DLJ's domestic and international branches," said George Levine, executive vice president at Quotron Systems. "We are confident that our technology and functionality will continue to keep DLJ at the forefront of the securities industry."
