DONALD T. GROGAN RETIRES AS PRESIDENT OF THE T.W. GROGAN COMPANY
CLEVELAND, Dec. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Donald T. Grogan, 69, retired yesterday as president and chairman of the board of The T.W. Grogan Company, a prominent Cleveland commercial real estate firm. His son, Timothy W. Grogan, 37, has been elected the new president and chairman. Another son, Mark Grogan, 35, has been elected senior vice president of operations.
Don Grogan came to the family business in 1948, after his military service and graduation from Western Reserve University. He became president on the 40th anniversary of the company's founding in June, 1966, succeeding his father, Timothy W. Grogan, the company founder.
A local raconteur, versed in literature and the arts, Don Grogan often is called the "mayor" of Playhouse Square. He established The Hanna Building, which the company owns and manages, as one of the most respected addresses in the heart of Playhouse Square. Among its prominent tenants are the Cleveland Foundation, Brush Wellman, Robinson-Conner, Cleveland Council on World Affairs, Benjamin Rose Institute, Cleveland Opera, and the Singing Angels.
"My brother and I are enthusiastic about the future of The T.W. Grogan Company," said Timothy Grogan. "We plan to continue the long tradition of excellence our grandfather and father have established through the years."
Besides The Hanna Building, The T.W. Grogan Company also owns and manages the Osborn Building along with several parking lots in downtown Cleveland, the Aurora Commons office building and shopping center in Aurora, and The Phelps Townhouse, a 140-unit exclusive downtown Cincinnati apartment complex.
