 THE CELLULAR TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION
 WAYNE, Pa., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Donald A. Harris, president of Comcast Cellular Communications, Inc. and Metrophone has been elected to the board of directors of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA).
 Harris, one of 18 new board members elected during the June 1 meeting in Washington, will join the 50-member board comprised of small, medium and large cellular carriers from across the United States.
 "CTIA is playing a critical role for one of the country's most important emerging growth industries, where the need for accurate information and representation is essential," said Harris.
 He said the cellular industry grew more than 43 percent in 1991, adding an all-time record 2.3 million subscribers in 12 months. There are currently some 7.6 million subscribers nationwide.
 Harris, 39, was named president of Comcast Cellular Communications, Inc. and Metrophone in March 1992.
 Harris previously headed Pacific Telesis's cellular operations in Los Angeles, the nation's largest cellular market. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, New York.
 Metrophone, a Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) company, provides a wide range of cellular services through a network of more than 40 independent businesses and 300 dealer outlets in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The company uses a sophisticated, computerized cellular system supplied by Motorola which virtually eliminates coverage gaps and transmission losses. Metrophone's services include: Shadow Traffic updates, star-911 emergency assistance and custom calling features, among others.
 Comcast Corporation is principally engaged in the development and operation of cable and cellular communications systems. The company's consolidated and affiliated operations serve more than 2.8 million cable subscribers. This includes more than 823,000 subscribers representing 50 percent of the total subscribers served by Storer Communications, Inc.
 With the completion of the acquisition of interests in Metrophone, the company now provides cellular telephone services in the Northeast United States to markets encompassing a population in excess of 7.8 million. In addition, Comcast is engaged in the sale and installation of sound communications systems, owning the largest independent network of background music systems operating under the Muzak(R) name.
 The Class A and Class A Special common stock of Comcast Corporation are traded in the Over-the-Counter market and are reported in the National Market System under NASDAQ symbols CMCSA and CMCSK, respectively.
