DOMINIQUE CHAUVIN NAMED GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF VARITY'S MASSEY FERGUSON UNIT

 BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Dominique Chauvin has been named group chief executive of Massey Ferguson, a business of Varity Corporation (NYSE: VAT).
 Chauvin, 53, previously general manager Massey Ferguson Tracteurs Compagnie, and president directeur general of Massey Ferguson S.A. in France, replaces J-P Richard, who has resigned to become president and chief executive officer of Insituform Technologies Inc., based in the U.S. Chauvin is a graduate of both the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales and of the Sorbonne.
 Massey Ferguson, a leading producer of farm equipment, had sales of USD 1.1 billion in 1992.
 Varity's other industrial businesses include Kelsey-Hayes automotive components and Perkins diesel engines. Varity (NYSE: VAT) sales in 1992 were USD 3.3 billion.
