DNA 20 and its members have had a very active productive year. DNA 20 co-sponsored the 2007 Legislator Connection Dinner along with DNA 16 this year.
DNA 20 members also helped bring in the Public Nurses Association of Colorado to the table for the Legislative Connection Dinner
A $1,000 scholarship was awarded by DNA 20 this year to a Regis University nursing student. Students from Regis and UCHSC have been welcome at DNA 20 meetings. One of the monthly meetings focusing on promoting professional nursing and role of professional organization--included students as well as members.
This year, DNA 20 also donated a gift basket for the Nightingale Awards. During the holiday season--food, toys, and toiletries were donated to the Jeffco Action Center.
Monthly meetings have focused on a variety of topics. Chris Schmidt and Cyntha Farkas presented on "Health Care Access and Immigration Legislation." Linda Krebs presented on "How to Protect and Promote the Profession of Nursing and Your Professional Organization." "The Nurses Role in Emergency Preparedness" was presented by Susan Moyer and Jodi Watson. Kathy Crisler did a presentation on "The Role of Nursing In China." Mary Pat DeWald presented on forensic nursing. These quality presentations were supported by the efforts of DNA 20 members.
