DMR dedicates new concept.

DMR Architects officials were on hand to celebrate the dedication of a new independent living facility in Emerson for New Concepts for Living, also known as the Disabled Children's Foundation of New Jersey. Designed by DMR Architects, this was the first ground-up construction of a facility for New Concepts for Living. Comprised of three single-story buildings, the homes can accommodate up to ten adult residents with varying disabilities and staff offices.

This housing project was also of benefit to the Borough of Emerson as it partially satisfied the [Borough.sup.1]s affordable housing requirement as mandated by the State's Council on Affordable Housing (COAH).

The homes were designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood and offer gradual sidewalks and shaded sitting areas outside for residents.

Each home features more floor space for greater maneuverability, fully accessible showers, bathrooms and kitchen countertops, and 24-hour monitoring.
