DMG World Media acquires Evanta, Inc., petroleum conference.
Evanta produces a series of 12 annual "summits," or conferences, for senior-level technology executives in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto and Washington, D.C. Attendance for each summit is by invitation only. In addition, Evanta, in partnership with the University of California Berkeley's Center for Executive Development at the Haas School of Business, operates the CIO Institute, a learning center for CIOs whose curriculum focuses on strategy creation and leadership development.
Dmg World Media has also acquired the rights to produce ADIPEC, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference, from Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company. No terms were given. Dmg's Oil & Gas division produces a series of six Canadian events for the onshore, offshore, oil sands and transportation markets, Gastech for the natural gas industry, the annual European Gas Conference, and "GNN, Gas Network News," a free e-mail news service. Overall, dmg World Media produces more that 300 trade exhibitions, consumer shows and fairs, in addition to 45 related magazines, newspapers, directories and market reports in 20 industry categories.
