DMA elects new chair, vice chair.
The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Board of Directors elected G. Steven Dapper, chairman and founder of hawkeye, its board chairman and Don McKenzie, chief executive officer of Direct Group as vice chairman. The terms of office commenced at DMA's May board meeting today.
The election was made necessary when Eugene R. Raitt resigned from the chairmanship and the board entirely in April. The resignation came just three months after DMA President & CEO John Greco, Jr., was forced to resign after an uprising of the membership and a board seat proxy fight.
In a blog posting, Raitt wrote that his company asked him to step down due to projects that are set to launch in China, Thailand and Korea. He is senior vice president, accident & health & chief marketing officer, Asia, for Allied World Assurance Company.
