As part of its strategic vision regarding humanitarian activities, the Dubai Municipality has joined the Land Department in its campaign to collect old household items to be distributed later for the needy.

The Land Department is organising this campaign for the third consecutive year and with the cooperation of various government bodies in Dubai. Campaign targeting mainly government employees has been titled as "Give new life to your old items". Collection items include old dress, electronic gadgets, kitchen items, health equipment, medicine and other undamaged items kept in households without use. Arrangements are made to receive the items in working hours at the municipality headquarters at Deira and at Al Twar Centre.

"The drive is launched to refresh humanitarian mind set of our employees and draw their attention to the environmental side of the issue," said Fahima Ali Saber, Head of Public Relations Unit at the Dubai Municipality.

Distribution of collected items to the needy is carried out by the Dubai Charity Association.

Vehicles of the association will collect the items on a daily basis from collection centres.
