In its annual State of Small Business survey, Guidant Financial found African-American small business owners are happier, younger and more likely female than the average of small business owners surveyed.
In the report of more than 2,700 men and women small business owners and entrepreneurs, many facts about African-American-owned small businesses were uncovered.
38% of African-American small business owners are women-a big distinction from the average small business owner, of whom only 23 percent are female.
56% of African-American small business owners rated their happiness at a nine or 10 (with 10 being the happiest), 6 percent more than the average small business owner.
23% of African-American small business owners are millennials, compared to the national average of 18 percent millennials.
