DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AWARDS PROCESSING CONTRACT TO LOCKHEED IMS
WASHINGTON, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Information Management Services Company ("Lockheed IMS") has been selected by the District of Columbia to continue its successful program of providing parking and moving ticket processing. The one-year contract, with four one-year renewal options, has a five-year value of approximately $26 million.
"We are pleased to continue this relationship with a company that has made an investment in our community beyond its contractual obligations," said Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly.
Lockheed IMS has been the District's parking and moving ticket processing vendor for the past seven years and its collections vendor for the past 11 years.
"This contract is more than a simple renewal. We asked for the introduction of new technologies and expanded system support for the Department of Public Works and we got what we needed. What this means for our citizens is quicker and more reliable service," said Betty Hager Francis, public works director.
New technologies being included are imaging of tickets and correspondence, and flexible desk top reporting capabilities as well as new computer hardware.
"Our ability to rewin business is extremely important to us. It speaks well of what we have to offer -- consistent performance above and beyond our customers' stated needs," said John Brophy, president of Lockheed IMS.
Lockheed currently provides ticket processing and collection services to 12 of the 15 largest cities that privatize the service.
Recent awards have been received from Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Milwaukee, and most recently, a three-year data entry service contract for New York City.
Lockheed IMS, headquartered in Teaneck, N.J., has been growing in specialized services for municipal governments and child support agencies, as well as for transportation and regulatory systems. Currently the company is providing varied private sector services to more than 120 cities and 30 states nationwide.
