DISNEY PRODUCES AFFORDABLE-HOUSING VIDEO FOR FLORIDA -- 'FROM CROWDS TO COMMUNITIES' LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Disney organization has teamed with Florida's Department of Community Affairs to produce a video designed to enhance an understanding of the affordable housing issues facing the state. "From Crowds to Communities" is a 12-minute production which suggests partnerships with business, government and communities to provide affordable housing. (The state has imposed a deadline of 2010 for all Florida residents to have access to affordable housing.) "From Crowds to Communities" is hosted by Jim and Patty Rouse, founders of the Enterprise Foundation. It features frank discussions by Floridians about the hardships of finding affordable housing and suggests solutions through community partnerships that work to create affordable homes plus numerous other rewards such as self respect, safe neighborhoods and jobs. One such solution is Disney's partnership with CED Construction, Inc. of Maitland. Disney has purchased $13 million in affordable- housing tax credits as investment toward construction of two apartment complexes offering 464 units. -0- 2/20/92 /NOTE TO EDITOR: Lt. Gov.
