DISNEY MAGIC IS CASTING, AND ON THE MOVE AT DISNEYLAND

DISNEY MAGIC IS CASTING, AND ON THE MOVE AT DISNEYLAND
ANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- After 37 years of residence at the "Happiest Place on Earth," the Human Resources Division of Disneyland is moving. The new home for the Disneyland Resort Casting Center will be located just off Katella Avenue in the recently completed Stadium Towers Plaza. The 32,000-square-foot center is a bold move from the modest beginnings of Disneyland employment.
Once based out of a small Anaheim farm house on West Street back in 1954, the move in 1965 into the present Administration building just of Harbor Boulevard seemed, at the time, like room enough to grow. But with the increasing demands for Casting of Disneyland, the Disneyland Hotel and the most recently acquired Queen Mary and Spruce Goose Attractions in Long Beach, it was time again to move. "We needed more room for recruiting and hiring activities," said Jeri Beals, manager of employment. "When you're dealing with a work force of 14,000 you need more room just to stay organized."
The first floor of the Stadium Tower Plaza will host the main reception area for Disneyland Casting and a small theater, where prospective new Cast Members may view a film on working the "Disney Way." The tower's eighth floor will handle the Human Resource aspects for current Disneyland Cast Members with the Executive Administration Offices for the division located on the 12th floor.
With hiring close to 400 positions for the upcoming holiday season, the move comes at a time when casting for Disneyland is at a peak. The Disneyland Hotel will act as a temporary home for the offices during the move from Friday, Nov. 22 to Monday, Nov. 25. The new offices will open for interviews on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1991, with satellite Casting centers remaining open Mondays and Wednesdays at the Disneyland Hotel Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Queen Mary.
