DISC adds high performance presses.
DISC has announced the addition of two new presses--one offset and one digital--to its roster of advanced printing and finishing equipment. Komori America, a division of Komori, Inc., has configured its flagship, high-performance LSX series to meet DISC'S exclusive specifications. The customized Komori LSX offset press is a 40-in., 12-unit press that includes two coaters and two drying units.
DISC's new HP Indigo WS6600 digital press is designed to produce high-quality labels, cartons and other packaging applications on a variety of substrates. DISC says the new press will deliver high production value and versatility to clients in the healthcare, beauty, and entertainment media industries.
In other DISC news, the specialty packaging solutions provider has once again received accolades for its promotional calendar in the 2013 Calendar Marketing Association Competitions. DISC'S entry features the images of eight of the world's master photorealists. In addition to earning 10 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, the DISC calendar was ranked among the six finalists for "Best of Show"--for the third time. According to DISC, a combination of techniques brought these images to life, including 4-color process and 6-color Hexachrome printing; cold foil stamping; inline soft touch coating; reticulating varnish and UV techniques; offline gloss screen UV; and grit coating.
