DIRT DEVIL CYCLONE EXTRACTOR MAKES WHIRLWIND DEBUT

CLEVELAND, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. (NYSE: RAM) is spinning into the extractor market with the introduction of the Dirt Devil Cyclone deep cleaner.
The multi-purpose Cyclone is ideal for washing carpets and upholstery, and washing and drying hard floors. In addition, a variety of optional attachments enable the Cyclone to be converted into a dry vacuum.
Rick Farone, Royal's Product Manager, is excited about the Cyclone which is expected to debut this month.
"We're very pleased. We're introducing a total cleaning machine that is not only easy to use, but also upholds the quality attributed to all of our floorcare products."
The Cyclone is equipped with a powerful 8.7 amp motor and derives its name from the patented fiber flow wash head that uses cleaning solution and swirling cyclonic action around and through the carpet fibers for effective deep cleaning.
Unique from other extractors, the Cyclone distributes cleaning solution while moving the nozzle head in either a forward or backward motion, resulting in excellent cleaning effectiveness.
A carpet cleaning head and upholstery head are included with the unit, as well as an automop tool, all of which are patented. The automop, specifically designed to wash and dry hard floors, has a unique built-in squeegee that dries floors quickly and streak-free.
Royal will be selling special floor and carpet cleaning solutions for the Dirt Devil Cyclone's system. They are included with every Cyclone. The Dirt Devil carpet cleaning solution, with a built-in allergen control agent, is safe to use on wool and stain resistant carpets. It is biodegradable and safe for the environment, too. The floor cleaning solution is formulated for use on vinyls, ceramics, quarry tiles and for most other hard floor surfaces.
The Cyclone is self-contained with a two (2) gallon capacity and a 25 foot cord for greater mobility. Its gravity fed system conserves water and speeds drying time. Other features include a flexible hose and two (2) stainless steel wands.
To insure that consumers can understand the proper assembly and usage of the Cyclone, a 12 minute demonstration video is included with each unit. "For easier comprehension of all the facets of the Cyclone, we recommend both watching the video and reading the instruction manual," said Farone.
An eye-catching Cyclone P.O.P. display is available for retailers to convey the exceptional cleaning features of the unit. The display requires no assembly since it has a permanently attached Cyclone, cleaning heads, and solution, thus making set-up easy for retailers. A booklet attached to the display lists features, assembly, and cleaning instructions.
The Dirt Devil Cyclone comes with a 2 year warranty and has a suggested retail price point of $199.95. Shipping begins in January.
