DIGITAL SYSTEMS NAMED IN INC.'S 'TOP 100' LIST OF GROWING COMPANIES
REDMOND, Wash., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Inc. magazine has named Digital Systems International Inc. (NASDAQ: DGTL) one of the "Top 100" fastest-growing small public companies in the country, Digital Systems said today. The listing appears in the magazine's May issue and is the focus of its cover story.
Digital Systems is ranked No. 81 and is the only company in Washington state to make the list. Selection was based on the compound annual growth rate in total revenues or net sales from 1987 to 1991. The magazine reviewed financial statements from more than 2,500 companies and interviewed company officers from several hundred finalists before making its selections.
"Receiving recognition from a respected national publication such as Inc. is always exciting," said Michael L. Darland, Digital Systems' founder, president and chief executive officer. "We never could have achieved such explosive growth without the trust and belief of our customers -- or without the highly professional dedication and commitment of our employees. Digital Systems is in this business for the long term and we plan to continue growing by providing our customers with superior value and service."
This follows on the heels of a January 1992 ranking by the Puget Sound Business Journal that placed Digital Systems at the top of the list of fastest-growing public companies in Washington. The Puget Sound Business Journal ranking was based on five-year revenue growth rates compounded from 1986 through 1990.
Inc. is not the only national publication that has recently included Digital Systems on one of its lists. In 1991, Business Week magazine ranked the company ninth on its list of best 100 small corporations. In 1990, Forbes magazine named the company one of the 200 best small companies in America.
Digital Systems International Inc. designs, manufactures, markets and supports inbound and outbound Intelligent Call Management(TM) systems. The company is a leading supplier of these systems and related services, which enhance the productivity, efficiency and revenue-generating capabilities of organizations that use the telephone to communicate with customers and potential customers. Digital Systems' flagship product, Voicelink(R), is used by clients in a variety of industries, including banking and finance, retail, oil, utilities, telecommunications, publishing, cable, healthcare, collections and telemarketing.
