 ACQUIRES ASSETS OF HYBRID ARTS
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital F/X Inc. today announced the formation of an audio division based on the acquisition of assets from Hybrid Arts Inc., a Los Angeles-based company which developed digital audio editing equipment. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
 "As the broadcast industry has grown more sophisticated, video professionals are requiring audio capabilities as part of a complete post production solution," said Rolando Esteverena, president and CEO of Digital F/X. "With the acquisition of significant audio technology, we are further enhancing our position as leaders in the professional video community, as well as establishing a presence in the audio industry."
 Products from the new division will be geared towards the audio professional who requires cost-effective audio editing in a variety of markets including: broadcast production, video and film post production, record production and musical instrument applications. The first product is expected to be announced in Q3.
 Robert Pape, vice president of Digital F/X, will be general manager for the audio division. Christopher Pelzar, former president of Hybrid Arts, will become director of sales, and Joe Fitzpatrick will become director of engineering, the same position he held at Hybrid Arts.
 Based in Mountain View, Digital F/X Inc. manufactures and markets integrated digital video post-production systems. The Emmy-award winning Composium family of products integrates digital keying, edit control, digital effects, paint, rotoscoping, video typography, and a central digital library all in one system. The Video F/X family of products integrate all the functions necessary to create professional- quality video productions from the Macintosh II. TitleMan, the PostScript title generator, renders Macintosh graphics and creates fully anti-aliased titles from any of 10,000 PostScript fonts.
