 DIGITAL F/X ANNOUNCES DIGITAL MASTER EX;
 FIRST PRODUCT FROM NEW AUDIO DIVISION
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital F/X Inc. today announced Digital Master EX, a direct-to-disk digital recording and editing system, and the first product introduction from the recently announced audio division of Digital F/X.
 "Digital Master EX is the first system to offer truly professional performance at a price point that makes it accessible to any studio," said Chris Pelzar, director of sales for the audio division. "For less than $5,000 Digital Master EX will quickly become standard issues in most audio recording studios. Systems with comparable functionality can cost two to three times as much." Digital versus Traditional Editing
 Digital editing provides the ability to perform tasks impossible with standard editing techniques. Until now, professionals relied on the cutting block and a razor blade to edit tape, a method which could only edit within seconds. With Digital Master EX, audio, video and film professionals can perform a multitude of editing operations with microsecond accuracy. The system's custom SMPTE standard software allows audio data to be located and edited down to the frame in order to match other audio tracks or video footage. System Functionality
 By combining a highly integrated system based with the industry- standard Atari platform, the Digital Master EX costs significantly less than other full-featured systems. This 4-channel, 16-track digital recording and editing system provides true graphic waveform editing, SMPTE synchronization with chase-lock, and 4 independent digital and analog inputs and outputs. With the nondestructive editing feature, edits can be undone. The system includes variable speed playback and record, 4 channel event playlist editing, DAT backup and restore with the Digital Master EX custom operating system.
 The Digital Master EX uses standard SCSI hard disk drives and is compatible with the popular Atari STe computer with 4 megabytes of RAM. The complete system consists of three 19" single-space rack modules. Compatibility with SMPTE sync types, multiple digital I/O formats and samples rates allow the Digital Master EX to be completely integrated into existing multitrack analog or digital audio suites. The flexibility also makes it possible for film/video post houses, radio and broadcast studios to utilize the power of digital audio editing. Price and Availability
 The Digital master EX is priced at $4,995 and will ship in September from Digital F/X.
