 DIGITAL F/X ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF MICROTIME;
 SECOND ACQUISITION IN TWO MONTHS BROADENS PRODUCT OFFERINGS
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital F/X Inc. today announced the acquisition of Microtime, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Andersen Group. Microtime manufactures products for the broadcast video market, including realtime 3D video effects systems. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. This is the second acquisition announcement from Digital F/X in two months following the acquisition of audio manufacturer Hybrid Arts in July.
 "Microtime is a logical partner for Digital F/X because they are the leading supplier of a new generation of digital video effects systems -- the IMPACT series -- that create realtime effects for the broadcast video market," said Rolando Esteverena, president and chief executive officer of Digital F/X. "This acquisition carries forward our strategy to accelerate growth by broadening product offerings while leveraging our existing infrastructure."
 Microtime for many years has been a leader in video equipment manufacturing for the television and video post-production industries. The company produces the IMPACT product line, a family of multi-input realtime 3D digital video effects systems priced from $25,000 to $110,000.
 "We are excited about becoming part of Digital F/X," said Larry Weiland, president of Microtime. "We feel that the combination of these two companies, with complementary products and strong reputations for quality, will accelerate the offering of innovative products and expanded support to the broadcast market."
 IMPACT creates and manipulates fly-through 3D objects in realtime and maps up to three video sources on multiple surfaces in a single pass. The new "3D look" of IMPACT, seen on the Winter Olympics, network programs, as well as local and national commercials, has created a richer look in television production. Prior to IMPACT, creating a 3D look was expensive, time consuming, and disruptive to the creative process. IMPACT makes 3D effects a useful and practical tool in the online suite, allowing post-production facilities to save considerable time and money by eliminating the off-line graphics step from the production cycle. Digital F/X will continue to service customers through a combined sales, distribution and support organization.
 Based in Mountain View, Digital F/X Inc. manufactures and markets digital video and audio post-production systems for the professional and emerging desktop markets. Integrating computer technology with proprietary hardware and software, Digital F/X is an award-winning technological leader in providing video and audio solutions.
