DIGITAL AUDIO DISC CREATES CD-ROM MANUFACTURING CENTER
TERRE HAUTE, Ind., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Audio Disc

Corporation, a pioneer in CD-ROM manufacturing since 1986, has begun construction of a specialty manufacturing center in response to growing demand for electronically published data.
The new 120,000-square-foot facility, which will specialize in duplication of CD-ROM and other forms of multimedia software, is slated to go on-line in the fall of 1992, according to James Frische, DADC chairman and CEO.
The facility will have a monthly production capacity of more than 2.5 million discs, Frische noted.
"In addition to expanding our capacity, we're creating a dedicated service organization to meet the needs of electronic data publishers," stated Frische. "The new facility has been conceived and designed for CD-ROM from the ground up."
In addition to front-to-back CD-ROM production services, including disc mastering, disc replication, disc labeling, packaging and distribution, the facility will include all sales and customer service operations, Frische said.
The facility, which is located adjacent to DADC's existing plant, will include an area devoted to manufacture of Mini Disc prerecorded audio software, Frische said.
Concurrent with the announcement of the facility, DADC announced that Russ Kunz, director of engineering, will head the CD-ROM manufacturing group with overall operations responsibility.
DADC opened in 1984 and operates a 350,000-square-foot facility that manufactures approximately one-third of all audio CDs sold in the United States. DADC currently has capacity to produce 500,000 CD-ROM discs monthly.
