DIG visits Raiwind to review security arrangements.

LAHORE -- DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf on Wednesday visited Raiwind to review security arrangements for Tablighi ijtima (congregation).

DCO Lahore Capt A(r) Usman, CTO Tayyab Hafeez, SP Sadar Ijaz Shafi Dogar, representatives of rescue and other departments were also present.

During his visit, the DIG said Tablighi ijtima (congregation) would consist of two phases, first from November 6 to 9 while the second one from November 13 to 16.

He said, about 4000 police officials would perform duty on the occasion. Police officials have started search operation in adjoining areas of congregation. He said that 16 checkposts would be set up while vehicles will be checked from 21 places on the route of ijtima.

Vehicles of elite force will patrol round the clock around the ijtima. He said that 700 officials of traffic police would also perform duty on the occasion.

No one would be allowed to park their vehicles without parking stands. Control room has also been set up for round the clock monitoring of ijtima, he added.
