DIET CENTER ISSUES STATEMENT

PITTSBURGH, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Diet Center businesses are in no way affiliated with Nutri/System commercial weight-loss centers, the company said in a statement issued today.
Diet Center, Inc. made the statement to eliminate any confusion that may have been caused by generic use of the words "Diet Center" in association with closing of corporate-owned Nutri/System locations. "Diet Center" is a federally registered trademark and service mark of Diet Center, Inc.
"Nutri/System's turn of events is unfortunate, especially for clients of corporate-owned Nutri/System businesses. We welcome those seeking healthy weight-management services and want to assure them that Diet Center businesses have no relationship with Nutri/System businesses," says Matt Miller, senior vice president of operations and planning.
Diet Center, Inc. -- one of the largest franchisors of commercial weight-loss businesses in North America -- has approximately 1,100 Diet Center businesses throughout the United States, Canada, Guam and Bermuda.
