DIDN'T BRIAN FARE WELL? BRITAIN'S TOP TV CRITIC.

Byline: Kevin O'Sullivan

IT ain't over until the fat gay guy wins...

Great to see worthy champion Brian Dowling crowned the queen of Ultimate Big Brother as Channel 4 laid its wornout cash cow to rest after 10 tawdry years.

Not waiting to congratulate Brian as he emerged triumphant from the house was his old reality rival Nadia.

Because - following her eviction a week earlier - the devastated Portugeezer tried to commit suicide after the notorious lynch mob's disgraceful crescendo of boos reduced her to a sobbing wreck.

Unsurprisingly, Friday's over-indulgent four-hour funeral march failed to feature poor Nadia's despair.

As a procession of fame-hungry desperados lined up to pay homage to the programme that defined their strange lives, C4's scorched earth policy sucked the last guts out of it. What's left for C5?

"Big Mutha" Davina McCall shrieked: "I love this show so much." Well, she would... it paid her pounds 70,000 a week!

This was the roller coaster decade that changed television for ever. For better or for worse? You decide.
