 DIAMOND-STAR MOTORS ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 NORMAL, Ill., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) has announced the appointment of Kohei Ikuta as executive vice president of corporate planning, administration and sales-and-marketing, effective March 1. In this position, Ikuta will also serve on the board of directors at DSM.
 "We are pleased to have Mr. Ikuta join our management team," notes DSM President Tsuneo Ohinouye. "His appointment to this new position reflects DSM's continuing growth and development."
 With Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (MMC) for more than 30 years, Ikuta was a member of the project team which was responsible for the establishment of MMC's first U.S. manufacturing facility, which became DSM.
 Prior to his new position at DSM, he was general manager of a department of the office of international business of MMC in charge of marketing and sales in North America, a post which he assumed in June 1987. He has served MMC in a variety of positions related to material control, purchasing, sales, market research, management planning, system development and international business for both Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
 Ikuta is a graduate of Wakayama University with a bachelor's degree in economics.
 DSM has also announced the additional assignment of finance and corporate treasurer to Katsuhiko Kawasoe, executive vice president of human resources and corporate secretary of DSM. Kawasoe relinquishes his former Administration Department (public relations, general affairs and legal) to assume his new role. The former executive vice president of finance and corporate treasurer, Donald R. Schoene, retired at the end of February.
 A member of DSM's management team since the announcement to build in October 1985, Kawasoe has been instrumental in hiring and managing the facility's 3,100 employees.
 Kawasoe holds a degree in economics from Yokohama National University.
 DSM board members are:
 Tsuneo Ohinouye, president and chief executive officer.
 Katsuhiko Kawasoe, EVP, finance and human resources and corporate secretary/treasurer.
 Kohei Ikuta, EVP, corporate planning, administration and sales and marketing.
 Takahisa Komoto, EVP, manufacturing, procurement and supply and quality control.
 John B. Burkart, EVP and senior manufacturing advisor.
 Laurence T. Greene, VP and general manager, procurement and supply.
 Wako Takayasu, VP, assistant to the president./
