DIAMOND-STAR MOTORS' EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM REALIGNS
DIAMOND-STAR MOTORS' EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM REALIGNS NORMAL, Ill., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond-Star Motors Corp.
(DSM) announces a realignment of its executive management team. The realignment is effective July 1.
Takahisa Komoto, executive vice president of manufacturing, procurement and supply and quality control, is returning in July to Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (MMC) in Japan. His position at MMC will be vice corporate general manager-overseas production. He served on DSM's board of directors since the corporation was formed in October 1985. "Mr. Komoto guided DSM through its infancy from the construction of our facility through the production of our first family of vehicles. His dedication, loyalty and expertise proved invaluable time and time again. He will be greatly missed," said DSM President and CEO Tsuneo Ohinouye. "DSM's board of directors analyzed the corporation's needs for today, and more importantly, for tomorrow. As a result of that analysis, the executive management team has now been realigned to better serve those needs." Kazuhiro Kusumoto joins the DSM board of directors as executive vice president-production control, manufacturing and production engineering. Prior to his appointment, Kusumoto spent more than 25 years with Mitsubishi starting with Nagoya Motor Vehicle Works in 1965. During his tenure, he has been involved with all phases of automotive manufacturing, including an assignment with Mitsubishi Motors Australia, Ltd. as executive advisor for manufacturing and production engineering. "In addition to Mr. Kusumoto joining our BOD, we have elevated two vice presidents to executive vice presidents," said Ohinouye. Wako Takayasu becomes executive vice president-assistant to the president and international affairs. Laurence T. Greene becomes executive vice president-procurement and government affairs. Ohinouye added that these new titles more closely reflect the responsibilities of these individuals. Wako Takayasu will continue to serve as assistant to the president and work closely with organizations relating to international matters. Larry Greene has, for many years, monitored the impact of the governmental process on the automotive industry. He has been informally tracking government activities at DSM for quite some time. Both individuals have been with DSM since its inception. The only other change was a move of responsibility for quality control. John Burkart will now assume responsibility for these activities. The new board of directors is as follows: Tsuneo Ohinouye President and chief executive officer Katsuhiko Kawasoe Executive vice president-human resources and finance and corporate secretary/treasurer Kohei Ikuta Executive vice president-administration, sales and marketing and corporate planning Kazuhiro Kusumoto Executive vice president-production control, manufacturing and production engineering John B.
