DIAMOND EXPANDS ITS AWARD-WINNING FAMILY OF STEALTH 64 GRAPHICS ACCELERATORS WITH STEALTH 64 DRAM

Stealth 64 DRAM Provides a Versatile Solution for Windows and Games
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond Computer Systems Inc. has announced its fastest DRAM-based graphics accelerator, the Stealth 64 DRAM. Designed to meet the needs of mainstream graphics users, the Stealth 64 DRAM supports 24-bit, true-color graphics, ergonomic refresh rates, a variety of operating systems and includes the leading graphics software package, CorelDRAW 3. Available in PCI or VESA local bus versions, it is offered in 1MB upgradable to 2MB DRAM or a 2MB DRAM configuration.
"Stealth 64 DRAM is the most flexible graphics solution for Windows and games," said Jeff Orr, product marketing manager for Diamond. "It provides all of the requirements a user wants in a graphics accelerator -- speed, ease-of-use, quality, and affordability."
Stealth 64 DRAM employs the Vision864 graphics controller from S3 Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., and supports a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 in 256 colors, 1024x768 and 1152x864 in 65,536 colors, and 800x600 and 640x480 in 16.7 million colors when populated with 2MB of display memory. Ergonomic, flicker-free refresh rates up to 120Hz are standard. In Ziff-Davis' WinBench 4.0 performance tests, Stealth 64 DRAM reaches more than 20.6 million Winmarks on a DX2/66MHz VLB machine and more than 39.4 million Winmarks on a 90MHz Pentium PCI system.
Stealth 64 DRAM combines advanced 64-bit technology and cost-reducing techniques thereby offering an affordable price for performance beyond competing VRAM solutions. Even the most demanding applications such as desktop publishing, graphic design and CAD are fully enhanced. Additionally, DOS performance is unsurpassed in the latest action games, flight simulators, and edutainment applications.
High resolution drivers for Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, OS/2 2.1, AutoCAD, AutoShade, 3D Studio, Lotus 1-2-3, CADKEY, Word Perfect, MicroStation and other popular applications and operating systems are included.
 InControl Tools
For easy, one-step installation and enhanced productivity, Diamond's Stealth 64 DRAM features InControl Tools desktop productivity software. InControl Tools is a Diamond-designed software utility that provides virtual desktop capabilities including on-the-fly resolution switching. With InControl Tools it is simple to change color depth, font, font size, cursor size, and move freely about the screen using the real-time pan and zoom feature.
