DIAMOND COMPUTER SYSTEMS INC. RANKED 17 ON INC. MAGAZINE'S ANNUAL LIST OF 500 FASTEST-GROWING, PRIVATELY HELD COMPANIES IN AMERICA

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/-- Diamond Computer Systems Inc. has been ranked 17 on Inc. Magazine's 12th annual list of the 500 fastest-growing, privately held companies in America. Diamond also placed third out of 67 California-based companies and first in the Silicon Valley. The complete listing can be found in the special October issue of Inc. Magazine, The Inc. 500.
Established in 1982, Diamond designs, manufactures and markets video graphics adapters, high-end Windows(TM) accelerators and multimedia cards in Sunnyvale, Calif. Diamond's products are sold through national and worldwide distributors as well as to major OEMs.
To be eligible for the 1993 Inc. 500, a company must be independent and privately held. The rankings are based on the percentage increase in sales from 1988 through 1992. Companies had to show at least $100,000, but no more than $25 million, in sales for 1988 and had to register a sales increase between 1991 and 1992. Diamond's sales increased from $1,344,000 in 1988 to $74,502,000 in 1992 for a total 5,443 percent, with an after-tax net profit above nine percent.
"We are very honored to have received this ranking in Inc. Magazine," said Chong Moon Lee, president and chief executive officer. "Diamond prides itself upon being an established, name-brand American manufacturer who beats the competition in a worldwide trade market. It is in this spirit that we wish to be a role-model for other small, American manufacturers."
