DIALPAGE, USA MOBILE AND SNIDER TELECOMM JOIN MOBILECOMM AS NEWEST PERSONALPAGER RETAIL ASSOCIATES

 JACKSON, Miss., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileComm, one of America's leading paging companies, recently announced signing an agreement to make DialPage, USA Mobile and Snider Telecomm associates in marketing their PersonalPager.
 The PersonalPager program pioneered the retail selling of pagers to consumers in 1990.
 The agreement holds great promise for all parties involved, as MobileComm gains an expanded distribution network and the partners become part of a nationwide system of sales support.
 Through its partnership with USA Mobile, MobileComm gains access to new markets in southern Ohio and Kentucky. DialPage will provide service for outlets in the Carolinas and Georgia, while the Snider Telecomm chain will offer PersonalPager service in its Arkansas coverage area.
 "We saw this as a golden opportunity to expand into fresh markets, while making our innovative, high quality PersonalPager line available to more consumers," said Mike Lurie, executive director of Alternate Channels for MobileComm.  The PersonalPager program provides associates with sales support through a local MobileComm office, backed by a national management system. Two of the key advantages gained through the program are expanded coverage areas and a new level of retail simplicity.
 According to Lurie: "PersonalPager is the ideal retail product, because the retailer sells the pager and we handle the rest. Additionally, we will continue to open new service areas, and the market share of our associates will grow with those expansions."
 The joint agreements yield several prime benefits for consumers as well, as interested pager buyers can now deal directly with a local PersonalPager service provider. Through MobileComm, they can choose from a wide array of pager enhancement options, including local, regional and full nationwide messaging service.
 Marketed as "the perfect tool for the business of living," PersonalPager has proven to be a hot retail item since being introduced to the marketplace two-and-a-half years ago. "Of the estimated 5 million pagers sold in 1992, an ever increasing number were for personal use," said Lurie. "PersonalPager is right for the consumer and a 'must' for today's more active lifestyles."
 The three new partners join a network of more than 10,000 stores that market the complete MobileComm PersonalPager product line, including Service Merchandise, Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Lechmere, Sharper Image, Abraham & Strauss, Hecht's, Hi-Fi Buys, Damark, Electronic Express, Standard Brands, Beyond Electronics, Rich's, Pep Boys and M. Luria's.

 MobileComm, based in Jackson, is a subsidiary of BellSouth (NYSE: BLS). MobileComm has been providing paging and voice messaging service in markets coast-to-coast for more than 20 years. The company and its affiliates have approximately 1.3 million pagers in service across the United States.
