DHL presented a grand prize - a Yamaha Jet Ski - to the winner of its 'mystery box' contest held in the UAE as part of its promotion campaign.

DHL had run a marketing campaign in UAE during June promoting DHLCOs day certain service across the Middle East, using a mysterious box placed on Sheikh Zayed Road, asking UAE residents to guess the nature and weight of the content.

The new day certain service is known as DHL Economy Select and offers a slower, but cost-effective delivery promise, said a company official.

The final prize of the competition was a Yamaha Jet Ski and was presented to Anhanava Giri during an award ceremony held at Dubai Festival City Mall on Friday. Parallel competitions were also held in Jordan, Egypt, and Kuwait in June.

C[pounds sterling]I would like to congratulate the winner of the competition and thank everyone who participated. Some of the entries submitted were witty guesses including an elephant, Austin Powers, and even a DHL Express employeeC[yen], said Janet Jweihan, DHL Express country manager, UAE.

C[pounds sterling]This competition is reflective of our extensive portfolio of services in UAE and worldwide. DHL Express is a truly interlinked, multi-modal transportation network across the Middle East."

"We are committed to fulfilling customersCO evolving requirements, and we have experienced a growing demand for the transport of heavier shipments to slower timelines, particularly from the UAE into Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt,C[yen] she added.

Commenting on the competition, Elliott Santon, DHL Express Marketing Manager, UAE, said: C[pounds sterling]The interest in the DHL Express campaign rose every day, and continues now with many customers visiting the our Service Point outlets and questioning customer service advisors what was in the box.C[yen]

With DHL Economy Select, customers can enjoy the same level of reliability for less urgent shipments that they enjoy with the Time Definite DHL Express Worldwide service.- TradeArabia News Service
