DETROIT-MACOMB HOSPITAL CORPORATION BOARD CHAIRMAN RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED GOVERNANCE AWARD FROM MICHIGAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION

 WARREN, Mich., Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- James W. Duff, chairman of the board of Detroit-Macomb Hospital Corporation, was honored Sept. 30 by the Michigan Hospital Association with its 1992 Hospital Governance Award in recognition of his outstanding service in the health care field.
 Duff was honored for, among many other contributions, his leadership during the merging of Alexander Blain Memorial Hospital, Jennings Memorial Hospital, and Detroit Memorial Hospital which allowed for the opening of Detroit Riverview Hospital in 1987. Today, Detroit Riverview Hospital provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient health care services for Detroit's lower east side community. He was also recognized for initiating many new services and expanding the corporation's network of satellite offices, including the purchase of three outpatient health care centers from SelectCare in spring 1992. All of these ventures have positioned DMHC to better succeed during the '90s and beyond.
 Detroit-Macomb Hospital Corporation is parent company to Detroit Riverview Hospital in Detroit and Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. With more than 600 inpatient beds and a network of satellite offices throughout Wayne and Macomb counties, they provide a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services to the communities they serve.
