DETROIT MONTHLY TO PUBLISH OFFICIAL DETROIT RED WINGS PUBLICATION

 DETROIT, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Detroit Red Wings have signed an agreement with Detroit Monthly to produce the hockey club's official publication, Inside Line, for the 1993-94 season, Detroit Monthly Vice President/Publisher Jeanne Towar and Olympia Arenas Executive Director and General Sales Manager Len Perna announced today.
 "With more than 75 years of publishing experience, Crain Communications and the staff of Detroit Monthly bring a wealh? of publishing know-how to the Detroit Red Wings organization," Perna said. "I know our fans will enjoy the lively, fun-to-read sports magazine that will go beyond traditional statistics and profiles."
 Detroit Monthly will write, publish and sell advertising in seven monthly issues and a six-page game day insert. The publication will be sold on area newsstands and at all 41 Detroit Red Wings home games, plus all home playoff games.
 "The Detroit Red Wings, and their owners Mike and Marian Ilitch, represent an exciting combination of good business sense and thrilling competitiveness," Towar said. "Since hockey tickets at Joe Louis Arena are one of the most sought-after entertainment seats in this town, Red Wings magazine will undoubtedly be one of the smartest advertising buys in the metropolitan Detroit area."
 Detroit Monthly currently publishes the Fox Theatre broadway show programs, Meadow Brook Music Festival event program, Metropolitan Detroit Convention & Visitors Bureau Visitors Guide, Oakland Life, and PGA-Michigan Section Annual magazine, in addition to the popular regional magazine Detroit Monthly.
