DETROIT EDISON POSTS SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE SALES INCREASE
DETROIT, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Colder weather lifted Detroit

Edison to its seventh consecutive monthly sales increase in November.
Sales of 3.27 billion kilowatthours (kWh) of electricity during the month were 1.6 percent more than November 1990, setting a new record for the month.
Residential and commercial sales also set new November records of 906.76 million kWh and 713.63 kWh, respectively. Residential sales, 3.3 percent higher than last year, were spurred by a 28-percent increase in heating degree days over November 1990.
Cold weather had the same effect on commercial customers, but sales also were aided by the addition of 1,300 new commercial customers.
Industrial sales continued to be affected by stagnant auto sales, which have limited steel and automobile production. Sales of 1.5 billion kWh to industrial customers represented a 0.2-percent decline from last year.
Total year-to-date sales of 37.82 billion kWh are 1.1 percent higher than for the first 11 months of 1990.
