Radiological emergency plans for Monroe and Wayne counties will be

discussed March 2 at the annual Fermi 2 Media Day at Monroe County Community College, 1555 S. Raisinville Road.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will join representatives of Detroit Edison, the Michigan State Police, the Province of Ontario, and spokesmen from Wayne and Monroe counties in reviewing their emergency plans. FEMA is responsible for overseeing government emergency readiness and operations.
The program, which runs from 9-11 a.m. in rooms 173 A and B in the college Administration Building, is intended to acquaint reporters with the facility which would serve as the Joint Public Information Center in the unlikely event of a major emergency at Fermi 2.

William S. Orser, Detroit Edison's senior vice president, nuclear generation, will conclude the briefing with a review of 1991 activities at the plant and a preview of plans for 1992.
