DETROIT CENTER TOOL TO UNVEIL NEW FLEXIBLE ASSEMBLY SYSTEM
 AT NEWS CONFERENCE TUESDAY
Detroit Center Tool will unveil Tuesday a new flexible assembly system capable of producing different automobile models, including prototypes, on the same line. This new technology, called Permaflex, will eliminate the need for production shutdowns for model changeovers or tooling maintenance.
The introduction of Permaflex will take place at a news conference at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Detroit Center Tool headquarters in Detroit. Key executives will demonstrate how the Permaflex system works, and will show practical examples of how the principles of the system already are being used in manufacturing systems.
The news conference is scheduled as part of a DCT Companies Open House. The DCT Companies, of which Detroit Center Tool is the flagship firm, is a group of affiliated companies that research and design, manufacture and market new technology applications for the world's industrial manufacturing market. Media will have an opportunity to interview DCT Chairman and CEO Bronce Henderson, who has led the organization from sales of $1.9 million to $100 million in 10 years, and who recently returned from participating in a round-table discussion on Japanese trade with President George Bush in Washington.
Detroit Center Tool is at 20101 Hoover in Detroit, two blocks south of Eight Mile Road.
