DEPOSITU?ARANTY NATIONAL BANK AND BANK OF NEW YORK SELECTED TO PROVIDE CUSTODIAN SERVICE FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF MISSISSIPPI

 NEW YORK, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Deposit Guaranty National Bank and The Bank of New York announced jointly today that The Public Employees' Retirement System of Mississippi has selected the banks to serve as its custodian.
 The plan's assets are valued at approximately $6.2 billion and include a non-U.S. allocation of $128.6 million.
 Dr. Milton Walker, the executive director of the system, commented, "We selected Deposit Guaranty and The Bank of New York based on their commitment to meeting our growing needs through customization of their products and services. We were also impressed with their flexible, on- line reporting capability."
 William G. McDermott, senior vice president of Deposit Guaranty National Bank, which is Mississippi's largest financial organization, noted his organization's strong desire to fully serve the requirements of the retirement system. "Our Public Employees' Retirement System and its members comprise a vital part of our state. Its influence and contributions touch all of our citizens."
 Thomas J.
