DENTO-MED SIGNS PRODUCT LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH CCA INDUSTRIES; HYDRON(R) POLYMERS CREATE NEW DENTURE WEARER PRODUCT CATEGORY

BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Dento-Med Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTMD) has signed an exclusive, worldwide licensing agreement with CCA Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCAM) of East Rutherford, N.J., for CCA to market and distribute Dento-Med's denture freshener, a new type of product for people who wear dental prostheses. CCA is a manufacturer, marketer and international distributor of over 50 brand name health and beauty aids and oral hygiene products to mass merchandisers and major drug store chains.
The licensing agreement is for an initial term of 18 months, and is perpetually renewable. Dento-Med will receive royalties equal to 5 percent of all net sales of the product, for as long as CCA markets the denture freshener.
Dento-Med's product is a moisturizing spray applied to the inside of dentures before they are placed in the mouth. "This is not a denture cleanser or adhesive," emphasizes Dento-Med president Harvey Tauman. "It is a denture freshener -- a new product category for dental prostheses wearers made possible by using Hydron polymers, the same technology that made soft contact lenses possible," Tauman explains.
"The Hydron polymer-based spray offers denture wearers several benefits, including improved comfort and adhesion, and moisture-released freshness," says Tauman. "Hydron polymers have hydrophilic or water- attracting properties that help dentures maintain a wettable surface. Denture material typically repels saliva in the same way that a glass surface causes water to bead. Hydron polymers create a moisture cushion that promotes adhesion in the same manner that a drop of water pressed between two plates of glass holds the glass firmly together."
CCA president David Edell says his company plans to create new product packaging, and develop marketing plans for retail distribution that will include television and radio advertising. CCA spends approximately 20 percent of its revenues on advertising programs and marketing support.
The market for denture-related products is expanding rapidly as the population ages. American Dental Association statistics show that almost 40 percent of persons between ages 50 and 59, and 50 percent of those 60 and over, have either partial or full dentures. Approximately 2.5 million new denture wearers enter the market each year.
