DENTO-MED READIES FOR ADDITIONAL PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
 BY EXPANDING MANAGEMENT TEAM
BOCA RATON, Fla., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- With four technologically unique health and dental care products currently marketed to consumers and the medical professions, and another seven planned for introduction between now and 1993, Dento-Med Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTMD) is taking steps to strengthen its internal management team by adding a strong scientific advisory board, and appointing executive consultants with large corporation experience in marketing, finance and investment banking, as well as public and investor relations.
The scientific advisory board will focus on new applications, primarily in the oral health and consumer products fields, for Dento- Med's patented Hydron(R) polymer technology. Products in development include a facial moisturizer that helps retard signs of aging, a water insoluble sunscreen, a strong but easy-to-remove denture adhesive, an acid-resistant baby lotion and a lip balm. Development work is also underway on a plaque-inhibiting mouthwash, an environmentally friendly insect repellent and various delivery systems for topical treatments that function best in a moist environment.
Members of the scientific advisory board include Charles Fox, a noted consultant in the cosmetic chemistry industry and former director of product development for Warner Lambert Company's personal products division, and Daniel Moro, vice president of operations for National Patent Development Corporation's Hydro Med Sciences division, which pioneered the use of Hydron polymers as the basis of almost all soft contact lenses. Other members are Roy Reiner, president of Chemaid, an FDA-registered contract manufacturer and packager of a variety of skin, hair and bath care cosmetics, and Stuart Levine, M.D., a podiatric surgeon in private practice and on staff at hospitals in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, Fla., who is also HRS Podiatrist for Palm Beach County.
Dento-Med's recently appointed consultants are concentrating on the company's strategic marketing plan, capitalization and investor relations. They include consultant A.W. Vitale, founder and CEO of the boutique investment banking firm, AWV Associates, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He has served on numerous boards of directors of both private and public companies and successfully negotiated a number of mergers as an investment banker.
John Boone is chairman and president of JTB Management, Inc., and was most recently founder, chairman and CEO of InnoVet, Inc., a NASDAQ- listed company. Previously he was president and CEO of STP Corporation, the world's largest marketer of automobile engine additives, and president and CEO of the Boyle Midway division of American Home Products Corporation, marketers of Woolite, Black Flag, Pam, Easy Off and Sani- Flush.
Karen Barry is president of Mar/Comm Associates, Inc., an investor relations and marketing communications consulting firm. She was formerly director of corporate communications/investor relations for ISI Systems, Inc., and has managed public relations accounts for the Grumman Data systems division of Grumman Corporation, Audiovox Corporation, Kollmorgan Corporation's Multiwire division, An-Con Genetics, Inc., and various health care and medical technology firms.
Dento-Med holds the exclusive worldwide rights to market products and technology using Hydron polymers in the oral health and consumer products fields. Hydron emulsion compositions are water insoluble, air permeable, moisture retentive, and both non-greasy and non-oily. Management of the company believes there is no competitive cosmetic product with this combination of properties.
