DENNY'S TO INSTALL 400 FISHER SYSTEMS IN 1992 ATLANTA, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fisher Business Systems, Inc.
(NASDAQ: FBUS), dba Fisher Restaurant Systems, announced today that Denny's Inc., the family restaurant division of TW Services, Inc., of Spartanburg, S.C., has ordered 410 additional units of the Fisher Restaurant Management System for installation during the period from Dec. 1, 1991, to Dec. 31, 1992.
The value of this contract to Fisher is estimated to be $5.96 million. Larry Fisher, president of the company, said: "With the installation of these systems, we will have more than 1,000 Denny's units across the country using the Fisher System. We are extremely proud to be part of this most successful project." According to Bill Hamby, manager of Restaurant Information Systems for TW Services: "In today's restaurant environment, it is critical that management be able to monitor store performance. Denny's chose Fisher Restaurant Systems as a partner in providing restaurant management with the tools and information necessary to succeed in this environment. With Fisher, we are in a position to support our restaurants today and to meet the challenges of the future." The Fisher System performs all of the Point of Sale (POS) and in-store management functions and transmits sales, labor and inventory information to a headquarters computer. In addition, the Fisher System speeds up the normal functions required to operate a restaurant, while provding a system of checks and balances to ensure that all sales are properly recorded. "At Denny's," said Hamby, "our managers are now spending more time with their guests. In addition, we have better cash control and can always account for all of our tickets. Waiters and waitresses provide better service to their customers due to the decreased time it takes to place orders on the Fisher System." The Fisher System is installed in single and multi-unit operations throughout the country. Fisher is an IBM Business Partner and utilizes the IBM Personal System/2 as the computer for its system. National maintenance is also provided by IBM, and Fisher's Support Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
