DENNIS QUAID, MEG RYAN AND JAMES CAAN TO STAR IN PARAMOUNT'S 'FLESH AND BONE'
HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan and James Caan star in "Flesh and Bone," a story of how chance encounters turns into a confrontation with the secrets of the past. The cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow. The film will open on approximately 1,200 screens on Friday, Nov. 5th. "Flesh and Bone" is written and directed by Steve Kloves, produced by Mark Rosenberg and Paula Weinstein, executive produced by Sydney Pollack, and co-produced by G. Mac Brown. The Mirage/Spring Creek production is a presentation of the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures, part of the entertainment operations of Paramount Communications Inc. Arlis Sweeney is a man who doesn't like to look back. His life on the west Texas plains has become a routine of familiar places and people: days passed on the road surrounded by rolling sand dunes between visits to diners and gas stations as a vending machine supplier, nights spent in motel rooms with lonely cocktail waitresses and wandering wives. In his experience, the unpredictable is a dangerous thing. He stays in town long enough to do his job and doesn't want any surprises, but he can't help being attracted to Kay Davies. He recognizes her as someone who has weathered many hazards, yet she is unlike him in that she hasn't relinquished hope. In her company, Arlis finds himself glancing more often in his rear view mirror -- squinting through the glare at the road that twists relentlessly back through dry prairies and desolate towns to the abandoned farmhouse where an act of violence once occurred that he will never be able to forget. MPAA-rated R, "Flesh and Bone" will be presented in Dolby Stereo in select theaters. The running time is 127 minutes. -0- 10/12/93 /CONTACT: Carol Sewell, director of National Publicity, Paramount Pictures, 213-956-5588/
