DENNIS J. MOORE ELECTED CHAIRMAN AND CEO OF ESCO ELECTRONICS
ST. LOUIS, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis J. Moore has been elected chairman and chief executive officer of ESCO Electronics Corporation (NYSE: ESE), effective Oct. 16, J.J. Adorjan, chairman and chief executive officer, announced today.
Moore, ESCO's president and chief operating officer, will replace Adorjan, who has been appointed president of Emerson Electric Co. Adorjan will remain a member of ESCO's board of directors and the board's executive committee.
"Denny Moore has played a central role in re-positioning ESCO," Adorjan said. "Since becoming an independent company, ESCO has streamlined and consolidated operations, eliminated major contract risks, increased and improved the quality of its backlog, repaid its long-term debt and reported positive earnings for the first nine months of fiscal 1992. Based on the financial position created by these actions, ESCO recently announce a definitive agreement to purchase Textron Filtration Systems, a business principally engaged in the design and manufacture of commercial and industrial filtration systems and components."
Moore, 54, served in various commercial management positions for more than 20 years at Emerson Electric Co. including senior vice president of marketing and planning at Emerson's Rosemount Division, president of Beckman Industrial and group vice president. In addition, he previously was group vice president of Emerson's defense businesses. Moore was named president and chief operating officer of ESCO in 1990.
"Denny's experience in both defense and commercial businesses eminently qualifies him to lead ESCO and its management team in the years ahead," Adorjan said.
Moore holds a bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy.
