DENNIS J. GORMLEY ELECTED TO COOPER TIRE BOARD FINDLAY, Ohio, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis J. Gormley has been
elected to the board of directors of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company (NYSE: CTB). The announcement was made today by Cooper's chairman, Ivan W. Gorr.
Gormley, chairman and chief executive officer of Federal-Mogul Corporation, Detroit, was elected to the position upon the retirement of William T. Fitzgerald. He will fill the unexpired term which ends in 1993. Gormley joined Federal-Mogul in 1963 and was elected a vice president and group manager of the firm's General Products Group in 1980 following a series of increasingly more responsible assignments in sales management and corporate planning. Gormley was appointed vice president and group executive - Worldwide Marketing in 1982. He was elected executive vice president of the corporation in 1985, and became president, chief operating officer and a director in 1988. He was elected to the position of chief executive officer in May 1989, and one year later was elected company chairman. Gormley is a trustee of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan and serves on the boards of Junior Achievement, United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI), the Economic Club of Detroit and Detroit Renaissance, Inc. He is a former chairman of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). Gormley is a graduate of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. -0- 11/14/91 /CONTACT: Stan C.
