 DELTA RECEIVES ITS 50TH BOEING 767
 SEATTLE, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines has taken delivery


of its 50th Boeing 767, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group said today. The milestone 767-300ER (extended range) was accepted Friday.
 Delta was among the first carriers to place the 767 into passenger service. Since receiving the first of the type in October 1982, the Atlanta-based airline has received 15 standard 767-200s, 24 longer- fuselage 767-300s and 11 long-range 767-300ERs. Delta has nine more 767s on order.
 "Delta is very pleased with its 767 fleet. These planes provide maximum levels of passenger safety, comfort, convenience and schedule reliability," said A.T. Pyron, Delta's director of aircraft planning.
 The airline also is the leading customer for the smaller Boeing 757, with 78 in service.
 The 767-300ER is the most-purchased model of this versatile twinjet; Boeing has taken orders for 264 of this variant. The -300ER seats 218 passengers in Delta's configuration and has a maximum range capability of 7,200 statute miles (11,600 km).
 At present, 49 customers operate 439 Boeing 767s of all models. Total firm orders to date stand at 605.
