DELTA CONNECTION, COMAIR ANNOUNCES FIRST JET DESTINATIONS

CINCINNATI, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- COMAIR, Inc., (NASDAQ/NMS: COMR), the Cincinnati based Delta Connection airline today announced the first destinations chosen to receive service with their new jet aircraft. On June 1, COMAIR's 50-passenger jets will begin nonstop flights between Cincinnati and Toronto, Canada; Chicago/Midway; Columbus, Ohio and Akron/Canton, Ohio. On July 1, two flights to Lexington, Kentucky will be added. This first group of destinations are cities that the airline currently serves.
Effective with the July 1 schedule, the Company will offer three nonstop jet flights from Cincinnati to Des Moines, Iowa. On July 15, three nonstop jet flights will be added to Providence, Rhode Island. Neither of the cities currently have nonstop service from the Cincinnati hub. On July 15, COMAIR will also add a jet flight to Minneapolis, Minnesota, which will complement the three Delta flights already in the market.
The inauguration of this new service will also mark the first U.S. service with the 50-seat Canadair Jet.
The Canadair Jet, manufactured by the Canadair Group of Bombardier, Inc. of Canada can cruise at 530 mph and up to 41,000 feet. The jetliner is promoted as the quietest jet in the world. This good neighbor jet aircraft is powered by two General Electric CF 34-3A1 turbofan engines.
COMAIR has 20 of the Canadair Jets on firm order and 20 on option. The delivery of the aircraft began this month and will continue with approximately one aircraft delivery per month.
The addition of this aircraft will greatly enhance service in terms of both geographic regions and passenger comfort and convenience. With the extended range capabilities of the jet, COMAIR will be able to offer service to cities which were previously out of reach.
COMAIR is one of the largest regional airlines in the U.S., employing over 2,200 aviation professionals. The Company operates 69 state-of-the-art aircraft to 63 cities in 19 states and 3 countries.
