DELTA AIR LINES PLANS SERVICE BETWEEN CARACAS, GUATEMALA CITY, SAN JOSE AND U.S. GATEWAY AT ORLANDO, FLA. ATLANTA, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today announced plans for nonstop service between Caracas, Venezuela; Guatemala City, Guatemala; and San Jose, Costa Rica, and the airline's hub in Orlando, Fla. The daily flights, featuring Boeing 757 aircraft with 26 First Class and 156 Coach seats, will begin Feb. 1, 1993, subject to completion of all necessary government approvals. Delta has maintained a long-standing interest in expanding its international operations from Orlando, where the airline operates a hub complex with 87 daily flights to 35 nonstop destinations. In today's announcement Delta noted that it currently holds U.S. government rights to serve Guatemala City and San Jose and has filed for authority from the U.S. Department of Transportation to serve Caracas. Delta's new schedule is as follows: Orlando to Guatemala City Guatemala City to Orlando DEPARTS ARRIVES DEPARTS ARRIVES 11:30 a.m. 1:15 p.m. 2:30 p.m. 6:06 p.m. Orlando to San Jose San Jose to Orlando DEPARTS ARRIVES DEPARTS ARRIVES 4:45 p.m. 6:45 p.m. 9:15 a.m. 1:10 p.m. eff.
